Spring/Summer 2014 Garden

Yesterday my husband and I participated in the national March Against Monsanto.

Here’s a quick shot of me with the amazing Michele of Michele’s Mashmallow’s!

This cause is, as you all know by now, extremely important to me. However, I whole heartedly believe that change doesn’t ONLY come from voicing your displeasure. To really change, you need to BE the change.

How am attempting to be the change I want to see? I’m planting and growing (organically) food for my family. I am saving seeds from our small crops to plant again next year. I’m starting seed vaults and educating others.

You can be the change, too! Even if you have a small space, you can still grow a few things! Lettuce, herbs, even cherry tomatoes Are fairly easily grown in a sunny kitchen. Potatoes are one of the easiest things to grow in a large container on a sunny patio.

Here’s a look at some of our garden this spring. What are you growing? What would you like to grow? Send us your pictures! Let us know if you have any specific questions. We might be able to help!

All of these photos were actually taken this morning (May 25, 2014). I’ll post another “garden update” next month.
