VegaOne: Review and Recipes

You guys probably know by now that I’m pretty picky when it comes to packaged foods I’ll allow in my body on a regular basis. I have found myself easily frustrated when it comes to the “health food” industry ESPECIALLY when it comes to protein shakes, workout supplements, and “health” smoothie mixes. In all honesty, there are only two companies total that I have found to approve of AND enjoy. While I love the company Garden of Life, and I HIGHLY recommend any and all of their products, they aren’t exactly the tastiest. Their protein shakes and smoothies can definitely be altered enough to turn out fantastic if you add enough of other ingredients to cover up some of the gritty and chalky taste. I am honestly okay with this most days, but for a lot of my readers, I know you can’t handle that. I also know that a lot of you are extremely busy (like me!), and need something you can throw in a shaker with water, juice, or milk of choice, and run out the door.

This is where VegaOne enters. Like Garden of Life, they are also Vegan, Gluten-Free, Soy-Free, and Non-Gmo. Their products are also DELICIOUS!!!!!! I honestly was fairly shocked that I can throw a scoop of the Chocolate or Vanilla VegaOne into my shaker with 2 cups of milk and have a drink in 20 seconds that not only tastes amazing, but has servings of greens, omegas, fiber, protein, probiotics, digestive enzymes, and half of my daily values of vitamins and minerals! Honestly, how can I NOT be super excited about this! Now, I will be the first to say that this should never replace green juice or even raw fresh greens in your smoothies on a regular basis. As a matter of fact, when I am home and know I have 5 minutes to make a real smoothie in the blender, I always add raw spinach, kale, or other fresh raw greens into the mix. Adding frozen banana or frozen mango instead of ice not only adds a little sweetness, but also turns your smoothie’s consistency into something pretty close to a full-blown milk-shake.

You can use the picture-link at the end of the post to buy a 5 day starter kit for $14.99 (regularly $18.99)! I have personally purchased several boxes of these. Why? Because I actually like that they’re individually packaged into one scoop per pouch (this makes it so easy to throw these pouches in my gym bag!), and I like that it gives me a variety in every box (2 chocolate, 2 vanilla, 1 berry), and I have found pretty awesome coupons inside every box I have purchased.

I’ll even tell you two of my favorite “milk shake” recipes to serve up to 2 people each!

Sugar Cookie Milk Shake:

-1.5 cups of milk-of-choice

-Half a scoop (or half of an individual package) of Vanilla VegaOne

-Half a scoop (or half of an individual package) of Berry VegaOne

-One handful of Raw Spinach (optional, but I say NOT optional)

-Half of a Frozen Banana

-1/2 up to a whole cup of frozen mango chunks

Add your milk of choice, both VegaOne powders, and raw spinach to your blender. Blend well until all spinach is completely blended and there are no pieces visible. Add the frozen banana and 1/2 cup of frozen mango. Blend well. Add an additional 1/2 cup of frozen mango if thicker consistency is needed, and blend again. Enjoy!!!!

Super-Green Chocolate Milk Shake:

Super Green Chocolate Shake
Super-Green Chocolate Shake

-1.5 cups of milk-of-choice

-One whole scoop of Chocolate VegaOne

-One handful of raw spinach

-1 cup (more if needed) frozen mango chunks

Add your milk of choice, VegaOne chocolate powder, and raw spinach to your blender. Blend well until all spinach is completely blended and there are no pieces visible. Add the frozen cup of mango. Blend well. If needed, you may add an additional 1/4-1/2 cup of frozen mango if thicker consistency is needed, and blend again. Enjoy!!!!
